The Gift Card is a prepaid Visa debit card and the value is shown on the Gift Card.
Before using your Gift Card, you must sign the back of the Gift Card. You do not need to activate your Gift Card. To use your Gift Card on the telephone or on the internet you will need to register your Gift Card at www.thegiftcardstore.nl. Please make a note of the Gift Card number (the long number of the front of the Gift Card) and keep this somewhere safe separate from your Gift Card as you will need this to report it lost or stolen.
You can use your Gift Card anywhere that accepts Visa debit cards but you cannot use it to withdraw cash from cash machines or to get cash back from a shop. If you wish to use your Gift Card to shop by telephone or internet there are some extra things you will need to do.
There are no fees for making purchases with your Gift Card.
Once you have used your Gift Card or registered it on-line then you must not give it to anyone else to use. If you intend giving the Gift Card as a gift to someone else, that person should sign the Gift Card on the back and can register the Gift Card on-line.
You can use your Gift Card until you have spent all the money on it or until the card expires.
Yes, you can use your Gift Card anywhere that Visa debit cards are accepted as long as there are sufficient unspent funds on your Gift Card.
Yes, you can use your Gift Card to pay for fuel by taking it to the cashier. However you cannot use your Gift Card at self service petrol pumps.
We do not recommend using your Gift Card to pre-book services such as hotels and car hire companies, as they may pre-authorise an estimated amount of the final bill. This amount will be temporarily unavailable to you for a period of time.
Yes. You need to ensure that you have an available balance equivalent to the total cost of the meal plus 20% as some restaurants pre-authorise the cost of the meal and a service charge. Once you authorise the payment yourself only the sum you have authorised will be deducted from your Gift Card.
You need to register your Gift Card online at www.thegiftcardstore.nl. Some retailers will ask you for a ‘valid from’ date to make purchases. Enter the ‘valid to’ date as stated on the front of your Gift Card. Please remember that some retailers will add costs for postage and packing and may not process payment until your goods are dispatched, so you will need to ensure you keep sufficient funds to cover your purchases.
Yes, depending on the refund policy of the retailer. A retailer may wish to refund the purchase price to your Gift Card but this can only be done if your Gift Card has not reached its expiration date (i.e. two years from the date on which it was purchased). It may take a few days for the refund to appear as a credit on your Gift Card.
There is a charge of 10 pence per minute or part of a minute for calls to the Customer Services number 0330 808 5057 from BT landlines, mobile and other provider’s charges may be more than this.
No. Once you have authorised a transaction you cannot cancel it. The amount you spend is automatically deducted from your Gift Card balance.
You can check your balance whenever you like by calling +31 (0)20 808 5375 or, if you have registered your Gift Card, at www.thegiftcardstore.nl. You cannot check your balance in store or at a cash machine. It is important to know your Gift Card balance before you shop, as a retailer cannot tell what the balance is before you use it. If you try to spend more than your Gift Card balance, the transaction will be declined.
No. Retailers are not able to check your Gift Card balance.
Yes. To purchase an item that costs more than the balance on your Gift Card, you must agree with the retailer how much you want to spend on your Gift Card and agree to pay the balance by some other means – such as cash, cheque, or another card.
No. Your Gift Card is non re-loadable so you cannot add extra funds to it.

Yes you will lose any funds which have been spent on your Gift Card before it is reported lost or stolen.
If your Gift card has been damaged and will not work anymore please contact Customer Services on +31 (0)20 808 5375 between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm Monday to Friday and we will arrange for the Gift Card to be blocked and refund any balance to you.
